According to reports Prince’s estate wants nothing to do with Roc Nation and Tidal. There were reports that Jay-Z put in an offer for $40 million for Prince’s music catalog but the offer was rejected by the estate.

The estate ultimately went with Universal Music Publishing Group for the sale of his catalog, saying that they did not want Roc Nation to  “exploit any of the intellectual property assets of the Estate.”  They are now looking into the music that available on Tidal suggesting the 15 albums that became available after Prince’s passing were not cleared to be on Tidal. There is an agreement between Jay-Z and Prince for the release of his ‘HitNRun’ album but there is currently no proof of the $750k payment closing the deal.
