YG Sparks Asian-American Outrage with Song “Meet the Flockers”

YG has been under investigation because of the statements he’s made in songs, namely “F***k, Donald Trump”.  Now his new song, “Meet the Flockers” has caused the Asian-American community to protest and petition against this song.

The lyrics include, “First, you find a house and scope it out/ Find a Chinese neighborhood, cause they don’t believe in bank account.”  Now this song came out on his album in 2014, so I’m not sure what took so long for it to surface but they’re on a rampage.  They have over 100k signatures on a White House petition they formed saying this song encourages violence and crimes to a specific ethnic group and asks for the song to be “banned from public media” and for the “legal responsibilities of the writer” to be investigated.

YG does what hip hop was meant to do, talk about realities, but it may put ideas in people’s heads so I understand the Asian plight to want to protect themselves.
