A new campaign was launched after a 15 year old girl was shot and killed on a playground in Chicago in 2013 by Okayplayer ( Questlove’s website) and Everytown for Gun Safety. They have launched a photo campaign features artists holding an orange sign that says “We can end gun violence.”

Okayplayer posted on their site “To show how serious we are about strengthening the gun laws in this country, we invited the stars, musicians and celebrities who made our Roots Picnic in Philadelphia to join us in the fight to end gun violence in America.”  The also shared some statistics about gun violence including that 51 women are killed in acts of domestic violence a year and 7 teens and children are killed a day by guns.
