French Montana Talks Trina, His “All Gold” Verse & Drops Album Details

French Montana was in town and heard Jenny Boom Boom talking about his alleged relationship with Trina, so he decided to prank call her and set the record straight– plus give out some new details on his upcoming album.

The rumors have been circulating that French and Trina have been hooking up, but the rapper confirmed it’s not true– their relationship is totally professional. “I’m executive producing her stuff, she’s part of the family,” he stated. “I’m just out here working.”

Trina recently appeared on the “All Gold Everything” remix with Cassie and Lola Monroe, a song that French himself appeared on previously. He’s a strong supporter of the ladies’ version of the song, as he feels there’s room for more female voices in the hip-hop game. “I’m standing behind that project,” he said. “I really feel like the game needs a female’s back. My single ‘Freaks’ is coming out next week with Nicki Minaj. I’m just helping with the ladies.”

There’s another new version of “All Gold” on the way, with reports of 17 guests.  French won’t be one of them, technically… because his part in the remix was used for the original.  His remix verse was so good Trinidad James opted to use it on the debut song. “Trinidad James had hit me do my verse for the remix,” said French. “[Then] he called me and said ‘Yo I’m about to throw it out.’ So we threw it out.”

James has been reworking his remixes as he goes, and French offered some insight into the original concept for the new version of the song. “I guess he was doing an Atlanta remix,” said French. “It was me, A$AP Rocky and Big Sean were supposed to be on the original remix.”

French is in town for a performance at Sin City in Waterbury, and he’s glad to be back in Connecticut, which has become his adopted home as an artist. “I love CT so much, man,” French said. “I was talking to Max B yesterday– he was doing the intro to my album– we were telling flashbacks of CT, all the stories we had… Connecticut meant so much history for over there.”

The rapper recently appeared in a new video with Ne-Yo, a remix of the R&B superstar’s “Let Me Love You,” which lead to another collab between the artists that French confirmed with Jenny. “On “Let Me Love You,” I got a director and we did it, and it came out dope,” said French. “Shout out to Ne-Yo, he’s on my album too– out April 16th.”

Just to prove his CT love, the rapper added “I always say when I’m gonna release in Connecticut first.”
